What are the rules of Blackjack?
Rule 1: Do not exceed 21 points
The first rule of the game as a player is tied to the objective of the game. This is where you are aiming to get as close to 21 points as possible if not exactly 21 points. If you go above 21 points, you would have been considered to have gone bust and would have to sacrifice your starting bet to the dealer. Then, you would have to wait until the next turn in order to stand a chance to recuperate your earnings from the dealers.
Rule 2: Below 15 points
The second rule that you need to be aware of is when your starting two hold cards have a combined value of 15 or less. When this happens, you would then be forced to take a card whether you like it or not. In most instances, this is more a house rule as opposed to anything else. In order to make the game more fun interesting, this move will induce the player to draw a card which may cause you to either exceed the 21-point amount or lower.
Rule 3: Do not fold or bend cards
In the game, this is considered as a form of marking in order to give the player an added advantage in determining what is the value of the next drawn card. Thus, players will be able to easily identify what cards are coming up next and choose wisely in terms to draw the card or not. When this happens, there are one of two scenarios that could happen to the person that damaged or flawed the card intentionally. The casino could choose to issue a fine and a ban to the customer or if the casino is nice enough and is willing to reward the customer with a second chance. They would just change into a new deck of cards as opposed to using the old ones. This is considered as the casino being kind enough to give you a sporting chance to amend for your wrong doings.
Rule 4: Understanding card value
We would say that this generally comes with experience in the game as opposed to just reading it off an article. This is where you need to understand what certain cards would grant you. There are certain cards in the game that grants you two, three and seven times the value of your minimum bet. So, it is important for you to understand these hands in order to able to grasp the full scope of the game. For example, when you receive a picture card and an ace, it is considered blackjack and you would then receive two times the value of your minimum bet.
